Activity Guidelines

Many activity programs require student to complete specific academic  requirements.,   Advisors are referred to the Faculty Admission Page on the AS400 and the table below to determine individual student requirements.  Additional Information will be provide by email to all general advisors during summer enrollment.

Specific Requirements for Participation in

Basketball Doug Hall – Men

Dave Denly – Women

 Must be enrolled in 12 hours. Students must complete a total of 24 hours with a grade of "D" or better,  for the previous 2 semesters to meet KCAC requirements.  Summer hours can be included in totals.
Cheerleading and Pom Squad   None
Cross Country and Track Jim Helmer – Men

M - Women

 Must be enrolled in 12 hours. Students must complete a total of 24 hours with a grade of "D" or better,  for the previous 2 semesters to meet KCAC requirements.  Summer hours can be included in totals.
Tennis and Golf John Paulin Tennis

 - Golf

 Must be enrolled in 12 hours. Students must complete a total of 24 hours with a grade of "D" or better,  for the previous 2 semesters to meet KCAC requirements.  Summer hours can be included in totals.
Football Ken Crandall Must be enrolled in 12 hours.  Students must complete a total of 24 hours with a grade of "D" or better,  for the previous 2 semesters to meet KCAC requirements.  Summer hours can be included in totals.
Soccer Roberto Dos Santos Must be enrolled in 12 hours. Students must complete a total of 24 hours with a grade of "D" or better,  for the previous 2 semesters to meet KCAC requirements.  Summer hours can be included in totals.
Instrumental and Vocal Music  

 

 Enrollment requirements for specific activities:
   SC Singers must enroll in A Cappella Choir
   Brass Quintet must enroll in Concert Band
   Piano Ensemble must have approval of T. Shook
   Pep Band must enroll in Concert Band
   All choir members must audition--enroll then drop if needed
   Concert Attendance--for all majors and minors

Theatre Roger Moon Students must enroll for at least one hour of Theatre Participation credit per semester in order to receive theatre scholarships.  Students should enroll in THTR 121, 122, 221, 222, 321, 322, 421, 422, based on their class standing.  All students involved in theatre activities may take the class for credit if they would like to have a record on their transcript.
Debate/Forensics Tracy Frederick Debate only scholarship should take:
  SPCH123 AR Debate

Incoming freshmen debaters should take:
   SPCH 123 AR Debate and
   SPCH 208 Argumentation

Students on a Forensics Only scholarship should take:
   SPCH 125 Forensics

Students could be receiving both scholarships and should take all three courses
Newspaper/Yearbook Stacy Sparks Maintain a GPA of 2.5 or above. Enroll in Newspaper or Yearbook.
Volleyball Cori Meyer Must enroll in 12 hours.  Students must complete a total of 24 hours with a grade of "D" or better,  for the previous 2 semesters to meet KCAC requirements.  Summer hours can be included in totals.
Discipleship Southwestern Ashlee Alley 1.  REL 140 and 141 (Disciple Bible Study) [Does not meet Bible core requirement for philosophy and religion majors].
2. REL 130 Introduction to the Church 3
3. LAS 214 Leadership
4. REL 220 Introduction to Christian Theology
Broadcasting — Radio and TV Tom Jacobs Specific requirements are individually identified.

If on a broadcasting grant, must take Radio Experience (some may take TV Exp.) and put in 3 service hours per week.
