MATHEMATICS COURSE PLACEMENT GUIDELINES
BASED UPON PREVIOUS COURSE WORK
If Accuplacer scores are available for a particular advisee (for example, a conditional
student), use the guidelines included elsewhere on the Advising Webpage.
| MATH 105 - Intermediate Algebra
(offered Fall semester). This course is appropriate for
students who: |
 | completed only Algebra 1 in high school with a
grade of A, B, or C, or |
|
 | completed both Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 in high
school with grades of C or D |
|
| MATH 110 - College Algebra
(offered Fall and Spring semesters). This course is appropriate for students
who: |
 | completed both Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 in high
school with grades of A or B, or |
|
 | completed MATH 105 - Intermediate Algebra |
|
| MATH 112 - Trigonometry
(offered alternate Spring semester only). This course is appropriate
for students who: |
 | completed both Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 in high
school with grades of A or B, or |
|
 | completed MATH 105 - Intermediate Algebra,
or MATH 110 - College Algebra. |

| MATH 215 - Introduction to
Statistics (offered Fall and Spring semesters). This course is
appropriate for students who: |
 | completed Algebra 1 in high school with a grade of
A, B, C, or |
|
 | completed MATH 105 - Intermediate Algebra,
MATH 110 - College Algebra, or any higher-level mathematics course. |

| MATH 222 - Calculus 1
(offered Fall semester only). This course is appropriate for students
who: |
 | completed both Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 in high
school with grades of A or B, AND completed an additional high
school mathematics class (other than Geometry) such as Trigonometry,
Functions, Advanced Mathematics, Functional Analysis, or Pre-Calculus, or |

 | completed MATH 110 - College Algebra. |
