Personal Information

 Beginnings

I spent most of my formative years in the jungles of Glen Ellyn, Illinois, a town immortalized in the movie Lucas. During the summers, I would escape from the dangers of suburban life by spending the time at my family's fishing resort in Northern Wisconsin. I was imprinted on fish behavior at an early age by my grandfather who managed a fish hatchery in Wisconsin. If anyone is to blame for my entry into the fishy side of science it would be my Grandpa.

 Vices and Virtues

I have far more vices than I have virtues. My vices include comic books, brewing beer,  lounge and surf music, ugly shirts, and cooking high fat, politically incorrect food.  My only virtue is Julie, my wife. She keeps me healthy and out of trouble (for the most part). The picture on the right is from our elopement which took place on Valentine's Day 1997.

This is one of my favorite pictures of Julie taken in a cafe' in New Orleans

The junior members of our family consist of my son, Sam, and daughter, Anna, as well as the hairy contingent, our cats, Claire and Ollie, and black lab, Mochi..    More pictures of the family can be found at Family Pics.
